Lady Spartans are 6-2

The Lady Spartans are on the right track with a 6-2 record after winning two games at the St. Mary’s triangular with North Central Tuesday September 22nd.  The Lady Spartans started the night with a match against North Central winning 2 out of 3 sets 25-22 and 25-22.  Junior Haylie Carson led the team with 12 service points followed by Senior Audrey Mohr with 9 points.  Junior Daydra Zeisler had 6 kills and Senior Lauryn Hoffman had 10 assists to help push the Lady Spartans to victory.  Freshman Paige Drueke stepped in to help in the back row and had 8 digs.

The Lady Spartans ended the night with a match against St. Mary’s also winning 2 out of 3 sets, 25-21 and 25-7.  Junior Daydra Zeisler led the team with 11 service points, along with Sophomore Amelia Hoffman with 10 points.  The Lady Spartans were strong at the net, Junior Haylie Carson led the team in kills with 5 followed by Junior Daydra Zeisler, Sophomore Amelia Hoffman, and Senior Audrey Mohr each with 4 kills.  Sophomore Amelia Hoffman helped the Lady Spartans set up their offense with 11 digs. According to Head Coach Janet Brown, “There is no quit in these girls, even when behind they persevere to pull out a win. Their hustle and determination is fun to watch. The Lady Spartans are continuing to work to improve everyday.”
