The Spartans traveled to Verdigre on September 16th to take on the Cougars. Boyd County started off a little sluggish, but played a close first set losing 22-25. The next three sets showed the Spartans playing more consistently with increased energy and finishing plays. Boyd County would win the next sets 25-17, 25-13 and 25-22. Recording ace serves for the match were Rylie Haun and Amelia Hoffman each with 3 and Kiryn Kayl and Jenny Goesch with 1. The Spartans had another well balanced offensive attack. Kill leaders were Kiryn 9, Amelia 4, Rylie 4, and Bentley Adams 4. Leah Jockens earned 2. Rylie was credited with 15 set assists and Kiryn chipped in 2. Defensively, the Spartans continue to work on passing and digging accurately. Recording digs were Rylie 13, Amelia and Jenny 7, Bentley 6, and Kiryn 5.
