Boyd County/Santee/Neligh-Oakdale Tri

The Boyd County Lady Spartans opened their home season with two wins on Thursday night.  In the first set Audrey Mohr lead the team with 12 kills with Lauryn Hoffman following with 6.  The two left sides hit a combined 320 kill efficiency.  The first set was a back and forth affair until at 18-17, Spartans leading,  Brooke Frey of Neligh-Oakdale went on a 5 point run aided by several untimely BC errors to take a 22-18 lead.  Ultimately the Warriors won the set.  25-22.

The second set was a nail biter as the BC team and the N-O team traded bad serves.  At 24-23 Spartans, there was a bad serve by BC.  The Warriors went up 25-24 before BC sided out the Warriors.  Then two quick points and the Spartans had won their first set of the year.

The third set saw the Spartans get an 8-3 lead before having the Neligh Oakdale team come back and tie it at 9.

With Mariah Smalley serving the BC team jumped to a 16-10 lead.  Feeling comfortable is never good in volleyball as Neligh fought back to an 18-18 tie.  For the next 3 servers for each team, BC was able to score a point or two and hold Neligh-Oakdale just to the side out point.   With Lauryn Hoffman at the serving line, the team got to 24 points before being sided out.  Now the score was BC 24-NO 20 with NO serving.   The Spartans Then won the point and the match.

The second match of the night saw Neligh-Oakdale defeat Santee in two sets.  This brought up the third and final match as BC took on Santee.  In this match the Spartans won in two sets 25-16 and 25-9.  Daydra Zeisler lead the attacking in this match with 6 kills   Audrey Mohr and Lauryn Hoffman each had 4 kills. Mariah Smalley had 5 ace serves.
