The Boyd County Junior High Football team experienced a variety of scoring plays when they hosted the Stuart Broncos. Preston Brewer opened the scoring with a traditional run and the PAT failed. Ben Schmitze added a punt return TD with Brewer running for the PAT. Schmitz passed to Payton Wickersham on the next scoring drive and Schmitz added a PAT run. Brewer blocked a punt and scooped up the ball for the next score and the PAT failed. Schmitz added another PAT run and Alana Winstrom added the PAT run. At the end of the first quarter the score was 36-0
The Spartans scored on TD each in the final three quarters. Schmitz to Wickersham for the TD and again for the PAT in the second quarter. Schmitz scooped up a fumble and scored in the third quarter and Brewer ran in the PAT. IN the fourth quarter Jagger Reiser ran in a score and Conner Nelson threw to Wickershap for the PAT.
The final score of 60-0 was made possible by an aggressive defense that had a number of sacks and fumble recoveries throughout the game. The offensive line also held up well, opening holes and giving quarterbacks time to throw.
The Spartans will travel to North Central next week to take on the Knights
