The Junior High Football team fell to Stuart on Monday 18-52. Despite the score, the young Spartans looked much better on defense against a very solid Bronco team. The Spartans caused and recovered fumbles and picked off passes as well and showing improved tackling technique.
Offensively the Spartan running game was hit or miss. Hudson Hoffman and Will Nelson both found the endzone of runs, but the big play ability was limited by the quick Bronco team. Hoffman also scored on a kickoff return as the Spartans also improved their special teams play. The young team had to cover several onside kick attempts by the Broncos.
The team now hits the road to take on the North Central Knights on September 28.
