The Boyd County Girls Basketball team completed their season at the Stuart Athletic Club Tournament on Saturday. The team lost in overtime in the first game, falling to Valentine 18-23. Kyla McCarthy hit two free throws to send the game to overtime. Scoring for the Spartans was Alaina McBride-8, McCarthy-6 and Elly Zeisler-4.
The young Spartans continued with exciting games in the second round, topping Gregory in overtime 21-17. Balanced scoring was the key in this game. McCarthy led the way with 9, Zeisler-4, McBride-4, Gracen Eckert-2, and Kaylee Warnke-2.
The Spartans struggled in the last game, losing to Neiligh/Oakdale 8-17. Selena Wipple led the team with 3, Warnke-2 and Mya Burn-3.
