The Boyd County Girls Basketball teams opened the year with a couple of victories over South Central. BC won the opening game 16-9. Alaina McBride led the way with 8 points, with Kyla McCarthy, Maddy Brown, Madilynn Nolan and Alana Widstrrom each chipping in 2. The young Spartans played well in their first game.
In the second game, the Spartans came away with a 21-12 victory. Defensively the Spartans held their opponent in check, holding them to 4 points entering the 4th quarter. Offensively the team showed balance with ReNae Kluckman and Jaylee Lechtenberg each scoring 6 for a nice inside/outside combination. Mazee Johnson added 3, while Ashlynn Finnegan, Claire Reiman and McBride each had 2.
The Spartans travel to West Holt next Monday
