BC Cross Country Holds Home Meet

September 12, 2022

On September 8, 2022 the Boyd County Cross Country team held their home meet at the Butte Golf Course.  Mother Nature once again decided to turn up the heat and the meet was moved to 10AM to help alleviate some of the heat risks.

The Lady Spartans started off placing both senior Natasha Zeisler in 4th with a 21:18 time and freshman Jada Harmon in 15th with a 24:55 time.

The Spartan boys laced up their shoes next.  Freshman Will Nelson placed 5th with a 17:35 time.  Freshman Brook Strom also came home with the 11th place medal in a 19:08 time.  Sophomores Evan Hammon and Grant McGill placed 18th and 19th with 21:26 and 21:32 times respectively.  Issac Jensen and Alex Lechtenberg, freshman, came in next for the Spartans in 23rd place in a 23:02 time and 27th with a 26:36 time respectively.  Senior Kaleb Kaczor rounded out the varsity boys with 30th pace and a 32:54 time.  The team finished 3rd behind  tough West Holt and North Central teams.

Junior High girls and boys raced together on the 2500 meter course.  8th grader Kaci Koenig finished 12th with an 11:47 time.  Addi Janousek, 8th grade, finished 16th with a 12:16 time.

The Boyd County XC team cannot thank our 10AM volunteers enough for taking time out of their days and adjusting their schedules to help run another great meet.  Your support, this year and in previous years, is truly appreciated by the coaching staff and runners.
