Another Busy Week for BC Golf Amid Schedule Changes

Boyd County High School golfers had a another busy week with schedules changing. Boyd County played Tuesday May 3rd in Ainsworth which had been moved from Monday. There were 7 teams competing: Boyd County, West Holt, Sandhills, Burwell, Valentine, Ainsworth and North Central. The Boyd County Varsity Team finished 3rd with a 395. Individual scores are as follows:

  • Timothy Atkinson won the meet with a 40-40/80 which was his first 1st place medal. It was also his personal best to this point. 
  • Derris Hansen came in 17th with a 47-57/104.
  • Leah Jockens had her personal best with a 53-52/105.
  • Zander Kluckman shot a 54-52/106.
  • Kyra Gonzales shot a 79-59/137.

The JV players, Kaleb Kaczor, Samatha Heiser, Brynn Almgren and Zoe Kaczor also competed at Ainsworth.

 

Boyd County was back in action on Wednesday to compete in the Niobrara-Verdigree Tournament. There were 11 schools competing: Boyd County, Bloomfield, Crofton, CWC, EPPJ, Neigh-Oakdale, Nio-Verd, Santee, Stuart, Summerland and Wausa. The team total was a 378. Individual scores are as follows:

  •  Timothy Atkinson improved his personal best and picked up his 2nd win with a 75.  Timothy shot a 37-38 and won the meet.   
  • Derris Hansen shot a 49-46/95 and tied for 18th.
  • Zander Kluckman shot a  53-48/101.
  • Leah Jockens came in with a 54-53/107. 
  • Kaleb Kaczor joined the Varsity team for this meet, shooting an 80-74/154. 

JV players were Kyra Gonzales, Brynn Almgren and Evan Hammon.  Boyd County will have another busy schedule next week as they travel to  North Central on Monday the 9th and West Holtm, a rescheduled meet, on Tuesday.
