5th and 6th Grade Honor Band

 

On Saturday, April 27, 2019, 19 Boyd County 5th and 6th graders along with their teacher, Mrs. Hausmann, went to Neligh-Oakdale for the 11th Annual 5th & 6th Grade Honor Band. To be chosen to attend, students must have reached a certain level in their methods books. Attending the honor band was: Lily Kemnitz, Issac Jensen, River Hansen, ReNae Kluckman, Charlie Adamsn, Mazee Johnson, Madalyn Reiser, Jaylee Lechtneberg, Will Nelson, Katelyn Faus, Brandon Boetcher, Kayden Kayl, Elizabeth Bernt, Brooklyn Eckert, Lilly Magwire, Addison Bermeier, Ben Tiefenthaler, Grant McGill, Mariah Strom, Carson Haun, Evan Brewer, Michaela Roth, and Blaine Purviance,  Evan Hammon and Jada Harmon were were unable to attend.

The 5th Grade Honor Band, directed by Dr. Josh Calkin, played Hero’s and Glory, Royal Crown March, Popcorn Prelude, Surfin’ USA, and Let’s Rock.  The Percussion Ensemble, directed by Mr. Chad Barnhill, performed Rumble, Plastic Boom, vowels, and the Antelope County Thunderstorm. The 6th Grand Band, directed by Mrs. Emiley Bond, performed All Board, Crazy Crocodile, Starsplitter Fanfare, Heavy Metal, and Supremacy.

The students learned a lot at their rehearsals and enjoyed the day.  Thank you to all the parents and family members who supported and attended the final concert.
