Lady Spartan Win Two

September 20, 2020

 

Thursday, September 17th the Lady Spartans traveled to Gregory,SD for a triangular match with Stuart and Gregory.  The Lady Spartans were victorious against Stuart winning 2 out of 3 sets, scores were 25-20 and 25-13.  Junior Haylie Carson led the team in service points with 7.  Also contributing service points were Senior Lauryn Hoffman (6 points) and Junior Daydra Zeisler (5 points).  Junior Daydra Zeisler led the Lady Spartans with 9 kills, followed by Sophomore Amelia Hoffman with 5 kills.  In serve recieve, Sophomore Amelia Hoffman led the way passing the ball 16 times.  The back row worked hard digging the ball to set up their offense, led by Sophomore Amelia Hoffman with 11 digs and Junior Haylie Carson had 9 digs. Senior Lauryn Hoffman and Junior Rylie Haun both contribute 11 assists while setting.  

The second match of the night with Gregory went 5 sets.  The Lady Spartans won with the scores of 25-16, 20-25, 22-25, 25-20, and 15-12.  Sophomore Amelia Hoffman led in service points with a total of 15, followed by Senior Audrey Mohr with 13 points.  The Lady Spartans were aggressive with their offense and dominated the nets.  Sophomore Amelia Hoffman led the team with 14 kills.  Senior Lauryn Hoffman (12 kills), Senior Audrey Mohr (10 kills) and Junior Daydra Zeisler (10 kills) also played a huge part in pushing the Lady Spartans to victory.  Senior Audrey Mohr led the team with 6 solo blocks.  Junior Haylie Carson was hustling in the back row helping to get the offense set up with 24 passes on serve receive and 22 digs.  Setters, Senior Lauryn Hoffman and Junior Rylie Haun both set the ball up over 80 times each.  Lauryn Hoffman had 27 assists and Rylie Haun had 20 assists.  Coach Brown stated, “There is no quit in these players, they play with intensity and the determination to win.  They are continuing to improve with every game.”
