District 9 STAR Competition

January 27, 2022

On Wednesday, January 26th, 16 Boyd County FCCLA members traveled to Ord for District 9 STAR Competition. STAR stands for Students Taking Action with Recognition. Competitors placing District Champion or Runner Up for each event category will advance to the state competition in April held in Lincoln. Event categories with more than one team in each level from the same school can only advance the top place to state per Nebraska STAR policy. The results are as follows:

  • Career Investigation- Level 2 -Katelyn Fletcher, Gold, District Champion, State Qualifier 
  • Nebraska Health and Wellness- Junior- Lily Kemnitz, Nathaniel Boettcher & Issac Jensen, Gold, District Champion, State Qualifier 
  • Professional Presentation- Level 1- ReNae Kluckman, Gold, District Champion, State Qualifier 
  • Professional Presentation- Level 1- Madalyn Reiser & Jaylee Lechtenberg, Silver, District Runner-Up
  • Professional Presentation- Level 2- Liz Arellano- Silver, District Runner-Up, State Qualifier 
  • Repurpose & Redesign- Level 1- Claire Reiman, Gold, District Runner-Up, State Qualifier 
  • Repurpose & Redesign- Level 2- Brynn Almgren, Silver, District Runner-Up, State Qualifier 
  • Interpersonal Communications- Level 2- Addison Birmeier & Brooklyn Eckert, Gold, District Champion, State Qualifier 
  • National Programs in Action-Level 3- Natasha Zeisler & Teegan Henderson, Gold, District Champion, State Qualifier 
  • Promote & Publicize FCCLA- Level 2- Lilly Magwire, Gold, District Champion, State Qualifier 
  • Sports Nutrition- Level 2- Amelia Hakl, Gold, District Champion, State Qualifier
